Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees must consist of at least 7 members:
- An Independent Trustee serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees (elected for a 4 year term)
- A second Independent Trustee (elected for a 4 year term)
- Four Voting Member Trustees (elected for a 4 year term)
- The Honorary Treasurer (elected for a 4 year term)
- The Immediate Past-President serves an observer only role for a single yearly term
Board of Trustee Members
Paul Massey – Independent Chairman
Paul is currently serving his first term as Independent Chairman, having been elected to the post in June 2022 following his joining the Board in June 2020. He served a plumbing apprenticeship and has worked for and led a number of industry manufacturers.
Nick Jones - Honorary Treasurer
Nick is serving his third term as Honorary Treasurer. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1980 and set up his own company in 2003.
Charles Brooks – Independent Trustee/Hon. Company Secretary
Charles is an Independent Member and was elected to the Board in June 2022. He has years of experience in the legal profession, specialising in work for charities and not for profit organisations.
Tanya Morrison - Co-opted Independent Trustee
Tanya was co-opted to the Board in June 2022. Much of her career has been dedicated to the areas of energy and climate policy.
Peter Thom - Co-opted Independent Trustee
Peter was co-opted to the Board following the incorporation of IDHEE. He has considerable experience in the plumbing and heating industry, with a particular focus on the area of renewables.
Geoff Westall EngTech MCIPHE RP
Geoff worked in the plumbing industry for over 50 years, and has served as Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer of CIPHE Lincolnshire Branch. National President 2017-18, Geoff dedicates time to supporting young people into plumbing and heating industry careers.
Kevin McCallister EngTech MCIPHE RP
Kevin joined the CIPHE in 1968 and was National President in 2014. He has represented the Institute on many external committees and assisted with the Trailblazer Domestic Plumbing & Heating Apprenticeship scheme.
Neil Overton MCIPHE
Neil is Sales Director for Gledhill Building Products. He started his career in plumbing & heating some 50 years ago, as an apprentice Gas Fitter at East Midlands Gas, before going on to work for many of the industry’s leading manufacturers.
Melville Gumbs Eng Tech MCIPHE RP
Melville began his plumbing and heating career with an apprenticeship, progressing through advanced training in domestic and commercial gas work. He transitioned into education, gaining qualifications to teach and assess students in plumbing and gas works. While running his own plumbing company, he remained committed to teaching. A CIPHE member since his student days, he has served as Branch Chairman, Secretary, and National President for two years during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Alex Wildish – Immediate Past President Observer
Alex received a scholarship from the Ministry of Defence to study building services. He then moved into private industry, investigating plumbing and heating failures. After several years, Alex set up his own company, now in its 10th year, with two UK sites and a dedicated materials laboratory. The company works with major insurers, solicitors, and businesses to determine the causes of failures. Alex has taken an active role in the CIPHE and keen to encourage members’ professional development.
