In Apprenticeships

The 14th annual National Apprenticeship Week (#NAW2021 #BuildTheFuture) is back and ready to celebrate all things apprenticeships!

Running from 8th–14th February, this year’s theme is “Build the Future”, and aims to encourage everyone to consider how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, and employers to build a workforce with future ready skills.

The week will see parents, teachers, employers and young people celebrating the diversity and value that apprenticeships bring to employers, apprentices and communities across England today. Due to Covid-19, events will be virtual this year, with social media playing a key role. This means that wherever in the country you are, there’s a chance to get involved.

For employers:

This year you can use the #AskAnEmployer hashtag during 12 noon – 2pm on Tuesday 9 Feb to encourage your followers to ask questions about how apprentices have built your business, helping them to see the real business benefits.

Employers can also join in a zoom webinar on the Ideal Standard Plumbing Focused Apprenticeship Scheme at 12.30pm on 11 February. The webinar will cover a new initiative by Ideal Standard, in partnership with the BMA, CIPHE and FIESTA Learning, whereby Ideal Standard is dedicating a proportion of its Apprenticeship Levy fund, to gift small plumbing UK businesses with financial support to sponsor their own accredited Plumbing Apprenticeships.

Please join us for an information session hosted by Tim Sainty, CIPHE Membership Director, on Thursday 11 February:

Application process commences on 15 March. Register your interest via any of:

For apprentices, aspiring apprentices and parents / guardians:

Use the #AskAnApprentice hashtag on Twitter during 12 noon – 2pm on Wednesday 10 Feb and encourage aspiring apprentices, their parents and employers to ask you questions about your apprenticeship. Encourage your followers to also follow the hashtag and look out for posts on @Apprenticeships, as apprentices will be taking over the channel.
