National Apprenticeship Week 2022

National Apprenticeship Week 2022

In Apprenticeships, Training

The 15th annual National Apprenticeship Week (#NAW2022 #BuildTheFuture) is back and ready to celebrate all things apprenticeships! Running from 7th–13th February, this year’s theme is Build the Future, a continuation of the theme used in 2021, which allows the week to link to the key pillars of the Build Back Better campaign.

This year, the week is encouraging everyone to consider how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, and employers to develop a workforce with future ready skills.

The week will see parents, teachers, employers and young people celebrating the diversity and value that apprenticeships bring to employers, apprentices and communities across England today. Events range from face-to-face to virtual, with social media playing a key role. Wherever you are in the country, there’s a chance to get involved.

For employers:

If you employ apprentices, use the #AskAnEmployer hashtag from 12 noon – 2pm on Tuesday 8th February, to encourage your followers to ask questions about how apprentices have built your business, helping them to see the real business benefits. If you are an employer looking to take on an apprentice, use the hashtag to ask your peers about their experience.

For apprentices, aspiring apprentices and parents / guardians:

Use the #AskAnApprentice hashtag from 12 noon – 2pm on Wednesday 9th February to ask questions to apprentices about their real life experiences. Apprentices will be taking over the @Apprenticeships channel on Twitter.

Plus there are plenty of online events for everyone to get involved with. Using the power of social media, Thank You Thursday gives apprentices the opportunity to thank the people who have helped develop them along the way. Celebration Friday does what it says on the tin and celebrates all things apprenticeships. Parents and carers can find out more about apprenticeships, traineeships and T Levels on Saturday and #SelfieSunday lets apprentices share their best work, alongside the wide range of roles and experience on offer.
