Big Bang Competition - Volunteer opportunities

Looking for your next opportunity to volunteer? We have just the thing

If you're keen to inspire the next generation of engineers, The Big Bang Competition is seeking volunteer judges like you. The Competition is open to young people across the UK aged 11 to 18 in state-funded secondary education, who are home educated or who enter as part of a community group. And it’s free to enter. As a STEM professional, we need you and your expertise to assess entries from amazing young people at online judging panels. You'll help crown the next Big Bang UK Young Engineer, UK Young Scientist and UK Young Technologist of the Year, supported by Siemens.

We're looking for a commitment of up to 8 hours over 2 weeks, between Wednesday 2 April and Thursday 10 April 2025. You’ll receive a full briefing and ongoing support. And don't forget, this volunteering counts as evidence towards your CPD.
