It is with sadness that the CIPHE records the death of Gordon Knowles Biden.
Jack Baker, Secretary and Treasurer of Norfolk and Suffolk Branch, writes, “Gordon was such an inspiration and an organiser with lots of energy. He was still attending Branch CPD events well into his nineties and had been involved with plumbing all his life, apart from a time spent as a pig farmer, but even then, still attending and organising branch events.
Gordon was an excellent leader and travelled to several branches, including Suffolk / Norfolk / Essex where he was able to help, and he held many positions, Secretary / Treasurer / Chairman with different branches.
As well as being deeply committed to the CIPHE, he was also involved with the Scouts and received the Silver Wolf awarded at Windsor in 2003 and was the Assistant County Commissioner lasting 24 years.”
Kevin Wellman, CIPHE CEO, added, “Gordon was indeed a charismatic and exceptional character, who did much to engage with members across numerous Branches. We were all saddened to hear of his passing”
