CIPHE has been confirmed as an official partner of the Heating Installer Awards 2024 for the fifth year running as the competition returns to search for the best installers in the UK.
After a record-breaking eighth year, the awards will open on Monday 2nd October and will once again provide recognition to the best installers in each region of the UK, with regional winners being crowned in April before heading to an exclusive regional winner’s event to celebrate their brilliant achievements. The winner from each region will then go on to do a technical challenge set by the previous national winner, James Bowen, and moderated by CIPHE, in a bid to be crowned the National Heating Installer of 2024.
In addition to the regional, sustainable, and rising star categories, the 2023/24 awards will also recognise the HVAC Installer of the Year. The HVAC award will celebrate F-Gas certified installers who have delivered a system to a customer that not only heats but also cools their home while improving air quality and ventilation.
Following a rise in popularity, the sustainability category is also growing. The 2023/24 scheme will award the most sustainable installer in the North, South, and Midlands to give sustainable installers more chances to win than ever before.
The awards will also continue to recognise the industry’s apprentices and those still in training, with the Rising Star award. This category celebrates the next generation of Heating Installers and commends them for their hard work and commitment to the trade.
This year, previous winners and shortlisted installers will once again be invited to a number of in-person events including a kick-off event and a regional winner’s event to celebrate the top talent from each region of the UK.
After entries close in February 2024, an expert judging panel will get together to mark the best entries from each region as well as specialist categories. The panel will include previous winners and technical specialists from each sponsor and partner.
The marks from this process will determine the finalists from each region as well as the shortlists for each of the specialist categories. The overall winners will then be decided by a combination of judges’ scores, independently reviewed technical challenges and a public vote.
Jerry Whiteley, Technical Manager at CIPHE, commented: “At CIPHE, all of our work centres around supporting and developing plumbing and heating engineers to raise standards and protect public safety, health, and wellbeing. So, partnering with the Heating Installer Awards makes perfect sense. We know that there is a huge amount of talent in the industry, and the Heating Installer Awards enables us to build on our existing relationships and further cement best practices by working with a number of installers across the country.
On top of this, we truly value the opportunity to be involved in an awards scheme that encourages high standards and genuinely celebrates the top talent in the UK. As an element of our partnership, the technical team at CIPHE are involved in moderating the technical challenge and judging the entries which is a true honour to the team. Our role as a third party is to ensure the awards are fair and unbiased, but most importantly to ensure that the technical ability of installers who often work alone, and often go unnoticed, get the recognition they deserve for the fantastic work they do day in and day out.”
The overall winner will be announced at Installer Show 2024, held in the Birmingham NEC, where 2023 champion James Bowen will award the next national winner.
